Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories is proud to offer our new Designer Stimulant Test by UPLC/MS/MS. UPLC/MS/MS is the most sensitive method available for the detection of legal and illegal substances. Sample matrices include blood, serum and urine. This test is performed routine and STAT for our Hospital/Emergency Room clients.
Designer Stimulant of MDPV and Mephedrone are being marketed as “Bath Salts”, “Plant Food”, “Legal X”, Ivory Wave, Ocean, Charge +, White Lightening, Scarface, Hurricane Charlie, Red Dove, Cloud 9 and White Dove. These substances have similar effects as Amphetamines or Methamphetamines. However these substances are not detectable in the regular Amphetamines or Methamphetamines screening tests.
Some of the symptoms associated with designer stimulant use are: paranoia, hallucinations, tachycardia, agitation, hypertension, chest pain, headache and suicidal thoughts.
Collection Requirements:
Urine- 20ml
Blood/Serum- 1ml in a Red Top Tube (no additives)
Cutoff Level: 5 ng/ml
Result TAT:
Routine- 24-48 hours
STAT- 6 hours from collection
